Daily Devotional Entry#194:

Unveiled- “Whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.” 2 Corinthians 3: 16- 18 (NIV)

Q & A?:

What transformation have you seen in your own life that has glorified God?

My answer:

What a powerful passage this is, friends. It speaks to a deep truth that I've been privileged to witness in my own life, time and time again: the incredible, ongoing transformation that occurs when we truly turn to the Lord. You know, for so long, I felt like I was looking through a foggy window, trying to grasp what God's glory really meant. There were moments of clarity, sure, but often, it felt like there was this "veil" the verse talks about, obscuring the full picture. Looking back, that "veil" wasn't just ignorance of His glory, but also my own fear and people-pleasing tendencies that kept me from fully seeing and living in His light.

But then, as I've continued on my journey, really striving to surrender more of myself, to lean into His presence, that veil has slowly but surely been lifted. It's not a one-time event, is it? It's a continuous process of turning, of seeking, of allowing His Spirit to work within us.

And the transformation? Oh, it's profound. I've seen areas of my life that were once riddled with anxiety and self-doubt gradually replaced with a peace that truly surpasses understanding. Where there was once a need to control every outcome, there's now a growing trust in His divine plan. Even my perspective on challenges has shifted; instead of seeing them as insurmountable obstacles, I'm learning to view them as opportunities for Him to reveal His strength and faithfulness in new ways.

This journey has been incredibly illuminating, especially in recent times. I've experienced the sheer liberation of breaking free from a controlling job environment, where the internal issues of others—men and women alike—were constantly projected, creating a toxic space. For too long, I allowed myself to be diminished by that energy, my spirit feeling suffocated. But through God's grace, I found the strength to step away, choosing peace and self-respect over the constant drain. I remember the knot in my stomach untying itself the moment I decided to leave. That was a tangible lifting of a veil, allowing me to finally see myself as worthy of better, and in that brave step, I believe His trust in His provision was glorified.

Similarly, I've had to stand firm and stick up for myself after realizing people weren't being honest and were even trying to provoke a reaction out of me. The old version of me might have retreated or let it slide, conditioned by a past fear of confrontation. But the transformation Paul speaks of, that "ever-increasing glory" from the Lord, has instilled in me a deep conviction: I will not tolerate disrespect anymore, in any form or matter, regardless. It was terrifying to speak my truth, but the fear was overshadowed by a quiet strength I didn't know I possessed, a conviction that His children are worthy of honesty and honor. This isn't about being confrontational; it's about honoring the self God created, recognizing my worth, and setting boundaries that protect my spirit. My newfound assertiveness is a testament to His empowering Spirit, glorifying Him by reflecting His own desire for healthy, respectful relationships.

This isn't about me becoming "perfect" – far from it! This transformation isn't a finish line; it's a daily choice to continue turning, to keep my face unveiled, knowing He's always at work. It's about a continuous reshaping, a gentle molding into His image. It's that "ever-increasing glory" Paul speaks of. And the most beautiful part? This transformation isn't for my own benefit alone. When I find myself reacting with more grace, speaking with more kindness, or simply having a more joyful outlook, I know it's not because of anything I've manufactured. It's a direct result of His Spirit working within me, and in those moments, I truly feel that God is glorified. My life, imperfect as it is, becomes a testament to His power and love.

It's a humbling and awe-inspiring journey, isn't it? To think that as we simply gaze upon His glory, we are changed. And in that change, He is honored. What a privilege.

Heavenly Father,

We come before you with grateful hearts, acknowledging the profound transformation you are continually working within us. Thank you for the precious truth of 2 Corinthians 3:16-18, reminding us that as we turn to you, the veil is lifted, and we are wonderfully reshaped into your image, moving from glory to ever-increasing glory by your Spirit.

We praise you for the strength and courage you've given us to break free from controlling environments, to stand firm against disrespect, and to honor the sacred worth you've placed within us. Thank you for revealing that true peace comes from trusting your provision and for empowering us to set healthy boundaries. May these steps of faith always bring glory to your name, shining as a testament to your faithfulness and power.

Continue, Lord, to unveil our faces. Help us to keep our gaze fixed on your glory, knowing that every moment in your presence refines us, makes us more like you, and enables us to reflect your light into the world. May our lives be a living testimony to your transformative love.

In Jesus' mighty name, Amen.
