Biblical Example (New Testament): Priscilla (Prisca) and Aquila

Acts 18:1-3: Paul meets them in Corinth. They were tentmakers by trade, just like Paul, and he stayed and worked with them. This establishes a foundation of shared labor and likely spiritual fellowship.


Acts 18:18-19: They accompany Paul to Ephesus.


Acts 18:24-26: A significant event occurs in Ephesus. Apollos, an articulate and knowledgeable man who only knew the baptism of John, begins to preach boldly in the synagogue. When Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they "took him aside and explained to him the way of God more accurately." This demonstrates their theological understanding and their willingness to instruct even a gifted male speaker. The text specifically mentions both of them being involved in this crucial teaching moment.


Romans 16:3-5: Paul sends greetings to them, calling them his "fellow workers in Christ Jesus" who "risked their necks for my life." He also mentions the church that met in their house, indicating their leadership role in establishing and nurturing a local congregation.


1 Corinthians 16:19: Paul sends greetings from Aquila and Prisca, along with the church in their house.


2 Timothy 4:19: Paul again sends greetings to Priscilla and Aquila.
