Have you ever experienced God transforming a seemingly ordinary skill or past experience into something He uses professionally for His purpose?

My journey into serving God has taken a truly unexpected route, one that began in the digital landscape. To fully understand, you need to know that my foray into the online world started as an amateur streamer on the UL app (which is no longer in service). This venture began during a significant transition in my personal life – I was newly single after a seven-year relationship and had to pull myself together. There was no time for dwelling; I had to keep pushing forward and build a new path. This initial experience in online connection and communication, though seemingly just a personal endeavor at the time, unknowingly laid some groundwork for what God now believes to be professional in His service.

Then came the pandemic, and life shifted dramatically. I found myself navigating new territories, including the world of dating apps. It was during this time, amidst the isolation and uncertainty, that I felt God's specific call, a call that was often met with judgment from family and friends who didn't understand this seemingly contradictory path. Their concerns only intensified when I made the difficult decision to let my children live with their father in another country – a moment that underscored my deep need to 'buckle down' and listen intently to God's direction.

Perhaps those earlier years of navigating heartbreak and building an online presence through what started as amateur streaming, along with periods of personal disobedience, created a unique landscape for God to work. It's as if these diverse experiences have broadened my understanding and ability to connect with a wider spectrum of people, meeting them where they are, much like a lamb approach gently. The resilience I had to cultivate during that breakup and the initial discipline of online engagement became unexpected tools in God's hands, now refined into what He deems professional for His purposes.

Yet, within the often-misunderstood space of a dating app, God was intentionally at work. Despite my initial intentions and even while engaged to someone I met elsewhere, I felt an undeniable pull to remain on the app. It wasn't my plan, but God's quiet guidance kept me there. Now I understand why. That app became my unexpected training ground for spiritual battles. It wasn't about fleeting romance, but about building spiritual discernment, setting firm boundaries, and ultimately, encountering His presence in the midst of the ordinary digital interactions. It was as if I was being cloaked as a lamb to the many I encountered, while inwardly, the strength and purpose God had given me – the lion's heart – remained firm and resolute, golden with His anointing and purpose.

Just recently, I've felt the clear call to shift out of this season. From initial nudges towards intuitive readings, to a deeper immersion in the Bible and the freedom to express my faith, God has been progressively revealing His purpose. His protection and grace have been my constant companions, no matter where I've been or what I've been doing. This truth, I believe, extends to everyone – it's not the platform, but the heart of the user that determines its impact. For me, God has always been, and will always be, at the center.

This journey has taught me that God's ways are truly beyond our understanding. As Isaiah 55:8-9 beautifully states: 'For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,’ declares the Lord. ‘As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.'

My story is a testament that God can meet us anywhere, use any circumstance, and guide us in ways we could never imagine. His glory shines not just in grand cathedrals, but in the quiet obedience to His unexpected calls, even those that begin in moments of personal rebuilding and in the most unconventional of places, transforming our amateur beginnings into what He deems professional for His kingdom. Stay open to His leading, even when it doesn't make sense to the world around you. His ways are higher, and His plans are always for our good and His glory.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your incredible grace and the unexpected paths You lead us on. Thank You for taking the seemingly ordinary and weaving it into Your extraordinary plan. We pray that the story shared here resonates with those who read it, reminding them that You meet us exactly where we are and use every experience for Your glory. May they find comfort and courage in knowing that Your ways are higher than our ways, and Your purposes are always for our good. We commit this reflection and its impact into Your loving hands.
