Daily Devotional Entry#152:


Hear My Prayer- “If my people, who are called by name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7: 14 (NIV)

Consider the significance of your family's last name. What heritage, values, or identity does it signify for you as a part of your earthly family? Now, reflect on the many names and attributes of God (e.g., Yahweh-Rapha, "The Lord Who Heals"; El Shaddai, "God Almighty"; Yahweh-Shalom, "The Lord Is Peace").


How does understanding the blessing and privilege of being called by His name, being identified as part of His family, resonate with your personal journey?

My answer:


My last name, Kamoku-Kane, is more than just a label. It's a living echo of my heritage. As an adopted child, this name is a profound testament to the sacrifices my parents made, ensuring I could live a better life. It's a unique identifier I carry, symbolizing a rich, multi-faceted heritage. Its deep meaning, "man of the land" or "man and the land (aina)," resonating with Mother Gaia, truly roots me to the earth. It speaks of a sacred stewardship, a profound calling to care for what's given.


For years, I sought to fulfill this calling in various roles, from the demanding pace of the automotive and restaurant industries to the vibrant entertainment world. I poured my heart into customer service and operations, even running my own businesses. Yet, in many front-end positions, I faced unresolved issues—others' unkindness—that deeply eroded my confidence. There were times I felt small, even bullied. Healing from past hurts, I struggled to be the "bigger person," eventually realizing I needed to step away from environments that diminished my spirit. My journey into entrepreneurship became a powerful act of reclaiming my space, affirming I didn't need to worry about others making me feel less than.


This personal journey, alongside the constant juggle of being a mom to four amazing kids and three dogs, caring for our household, and intentionally finding time for myself, has been powerful. It's taught me resilience and a profound discipline to show up every day, even when I don't feel like it. This commitment fuels my current projects, like building the websites for Daily Devotionals w/ JayJay - A Walk with God = Sovereign Water Bearer Oracle and our Akamai Greenlight Solutions LLC janitorial business—tangible expressions of my devotion.


Through all of this, the profound truth of God, the Most High, began to ignite my spirit. When I reflect on His many names—Healer, Provider, Peace, Almighty—and the blessing of being called by His name, I understand it's an invitation into a divine family. It's an inheritance of grace, a promise of His unending presence. This is where the spiritual awakening truly began for me—recognizing my very identity is stamped with the divine.


Here, being "called by His name" isn't a passive blessing; it's a profound call to transformation. It speaks of a sacred partnership, a responsibility woven into our awakened identity. For me, connecting my earthly name's meaning to being "called by His name" deepens my understanding of divine stewardship—tending not just to the physical earth, but to our spiritual landscapes. This is precisely where my purpose as a spiritual guide and advisor ignites. My journey is about helping others understand their divine connection, recognize the sacred within, and step onto the path to wholeness. It's about being a trailblazer for the next generations, laying a foundation for spiritual awakening that extends to all humanity.


To be called by His name means we are His reflections, chosen to walk in humility, engage in earnest prayer, and relentlessly seek His face. This calls us to alignment, a genuine turning towards His divine ways. This turning also involves a profound discernment—obeying God's command to protect the peace He has healed within us. It means extending forgiveness, yet wisely choosing not to re-engage with energies that would compromise the spiritual ground we've reclaimed, no matter the situation. This act of safeguarding our sacred space is crucial for continued service and vitality. True healing—personal, communal, and global—flows from this profound, living connection. What a sacred privilege, what a transformative promise, and what an awe-inspiring purpose we are invited to embody.


Heavenly Father, Most High,


Thank You for the gift of our names, both earthly and divine. Thank You for calling us by Your name, inviting us into Your family, and bestowing upon us the privilege of Your presence and Your profound healing power.


Guide us to walk in the humility You call for, to seek Your face diligently through prayer, and to continually turn towards Your loving ways. May our lives reflect Your healing, Your peace, and Your unwavering light, not just for ourselves, but for all those around us and for the land we cherish.


Strengthen us in my work to serve and to guide, trusting in Your transformative promise and the awakening You ignite within each of us. May we be steadfast in laying foundations for generations to come, and in honoring the sacred boundaries You call us to maintain.
