Serving For Everyone- “Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil; cling to what is good. Not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer; distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality;...” Romans 12: 9, 11-13 (NKJV)

How can you serve someone today?


My answer:


When I reflect on serving others, it often brings a deep sense of peace to my soul and journey, affirming that God has always been my roots. Today was a beautiful example of this. I stepped out of my comfort zone, simply by smiling and saying hello to new people. It felt so good to interact, to feel the openness of the world again.


I also had the chance to help some homeowners by moving four pool lounging chairs, which was another refreshing reminder of the simple joy in being of service. As these good things continued, I was especially blessed to see my stepson help his grandma (my other half, Keoni's, mom) by mopping her floors. She's elderly and lives alone, so she truly enjoys the company when we have free time. What a blessing it is to see the greatest aspect in our kids today—their wondrous energy and the rewarding feeling of knowing we are raising the next generation.


This aligns so well with Romans 12:9, 11-13. These verses beautifully affirm that genuine love, enthusiastic service, and open-hearted sharing are simple yet powerful ways to serve. It's clear that in my home, everyone will put and have God in everything and anything, ensuring that service and genuine connection are always at the heart of what we do.


Serving doesn't always have to be grand; sometimes, it's just showing up, being present, and allowing that divine spark within to connect with others.


Heavenly Father,


We are grateful for the moments of connection and service You bring into our lives. Thank You for the refreshing feeling of stepping out of our comfort zones, for the simple joy of a shared smile, and for the opportunities to offer a helping hand, like moving chairs or mopping floors.


We especially thank You for the blessing of family, for the precious energy of the next generation, and for the wisdom of those in their elderly years. May our homes truly be places where You are honored in all things, where genuine love and selfless service are always at the heart of our interactions.


May we continue to live out the beautiful truth of Romans 12:9, 11-13, letting our love be genuine, serving with zeal, and sharing with open hearts. Guide us, strengthen us, and uphold us as we seek to be Your hands and feet in the world.
