Grand Rising beloved! Thank you for visiting this page. Welcome to today's Daily Devotionals- Day 110 of 365 days.
Daily Devotional Entry#110:
In His Timing- “Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who carries out wicked schemes. Cease from anger and forsake wrath; Do not fret; it leads only to evildoing. For evildoers will be cut off, but those who wait for the Lord, they will inherit the land.”- Psalm 37: 7-9 (NASB)
Q & A?:
What have you been waiting for? It’s okay to continue to ask God for these things, just remember that he asks for your patience!
My answer:
What have I been waiting for? It's a question I've been wrestling with a lot lately, and I bet you have too. We all hold onto specific hopes and dreams, don't we? Those earnest prayers we keep lifting to God. Maybe it's a new season in life, a specific prayer answered, a dream job, or just a clearer path forward. That longing can feel so real, so immediate.
And let me tell you, it's absolutely okay to keep asking God for these things. He invites us into that deep, beautiful conversation, that relationship where we can lay our hearts bare. He genuinely wants to hear from us, and He delights in giving good gifts.
But here’s the thing, and it’s a gentle reminder I often need for myself: He also asks for our patience. Oh, that word! Patience. It's not always the easiest virtue to embrace, especially when our world pushes for instant gratification.
I've been drawn to Psalm 37:7-9 lately, and these verses really speak to this struggle and this truth:
"**Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him.**" There's such a profound power in those words. It's not a passive waiting, but an active resting *in* Him. For me, that means choosing to trust His timing, His perfect plan, and His unwavering goodness, even when things aren't unfolding exactly how or when I think they should.
It's so easy to look around, isn't it? To compare my journey to someone else's, to see their progress and wonder, "When will it be my turn?" But Psalm 37 gently steers us away from that. It tells us not to fret, not to get caught in comparison or worry, because those feelings can truly steal our peace and joy.
Instead, the promise is for "**those who hope in the Lord.**" This isn't just wishful thinking; it's a deep, settled confidence in God’s faithfulness. It’s knowing that He sees me, He hears me, and He's orchestrating everything for my ultimate good, even when the full picture isn't clear to me.
So, whatever I'm waiting for, I'm reminding myself—and you too—to keep bringing it to Him. Keep praying, keep hoping, keep trusting. And in the midst of it all, I'm leaning into that sacred invitation: **rest in Him, and wait patiently.** His timing is truly perfect, and His plans for us are always more beautiful than we can envision right now.
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of desires and hopes. We thank You for hearing our prayers and for Your boundless love and generosity. Help us, Lord, to rest in You and to wait patiently for Your perfect timing. Grant us the strength to trust Your plan, even when we don't understand it, and to release our worries into Your loving hands. May our hope be firmly fixed in You, knowing that You are always working for our good. In Jesus' name, Amen.
